Montana State 75, at Long Beach State 61: Will Bynum scored 15 points, and Danny Piepoli added 12 in the victory for the Bobcats (5-4). Long Beach State (4-6) committed 19 turnovers.

Middle Tennessee State 65, UC Irvine 52: Desmond Yates scored 22 points to lead the Blue Raiders (5-5) to a victory in the first round of the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off Tournament at Springfield, Mo. Kevin Bland had 12 points for UC Irvine (1-8).

Tulsa 79, at Loyola Marymount 45: Tulsa (7-4) shot 56.6% and had 25 assists to rout the Lions (0-12), who were led by freshman Kevin Young with a career-best 16 points.

WOMEN

at USC 95, Harvard 74: Freshman Briana Gilbreath scored 22 points for the Trojans (6-4), with 17 of them coming in the first half. Harvard fell to 7-6.
