It’s the land of the giants
* Detroit 101, at Toronto 85: The Pistons extended their winning streak to 11 games. Detroit, which has not lost since an 80-77 defeat in Houston on Dec. 12, has the longest current run in the NBA. The Pistons’ streak is their longest since winning 11 in a row in January 2006.
* at Indiana 113, Atlanta 91: Danny Granger tied a career high with 32 points to help the Pacers end a five-game losing streak. Indiana point guard Jamaal Tinsley sat out for his fourth game in a row because of a sore left thigh. It was the Pacers’ first win without him.
* Houston 96, at Orlando 94: Rafer Alston scored the winning layup with four seconds left. The Magic appeared to tie the score on Adonal Foyle’s tip-in at the buzzer, but officials said he didn’t get the shot off in time.
* at New Jersey 102, Charlotte 96: The Nets won a season-high fourth consecutive game and handed the Bobcats their 11th consecutive road loss. Charlotte turned the ball over 21 times, which led to 29 points for New Jersey.
* at Boston 100, Memphis 96: Ray Allen went 0 for 9 from the field, but he made two free throws with 9.3 seconds left to avoid his first scoreless appearance in a decade. Reserve Tony Allen filled in nicely, scoring a season-high 20 points to help the Celtics win their eighth in a row.
* at San Antonio 97, New York 93: Nate Robinson’s two free throws, followed by a basket with 50 seconds to go, got the Knicks to within one. Robinson fouled Bruce Bowen, who made both free throws to make it 96-93 with 10.2 left. The Knicks played without forward Zach Randolph, who was suspended one game for throwing his headband at a referee during Wednesday’s 107-97 loss to Sacramento.
* at Cleveland 97, Sacramento 93: Daniel Gibson made a decisive three-point basket with 12 seconds left. The Kings, who were missing injured starters Ron Artest, Kevin Martin and Mike Bibby, pulled to within 94-93 on Beno Udrih’s with 47 seconds left.
* Denver 118, at Minnesota 107: Reserve Rashad McCants led all scorers with 34 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Timberwolves from losing their season-worst seventh in a row. They are off to the worst start in franchise history at 4-28.
* Washington 101, at Milwaukee 77: The game wasn’t competitive from the start with the Bucks playing without leading scorer Michael Redd, who was kneed in the left thigh against Miami on Wednesday night and is day-to-day.
* New Orleans 116, at Golden State 104: Tyson Chandler had a season-high 22 points and matched a season best with 22 rebounds to lead the Hornets to their fifth consecutive road win. Chris Paul scored 11 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter to help the Hornets extend their longest road winning streak since also winning five in a row in 2003.
* at Dallas 94, Miami 89: The Heat, playing without Shaquille O’Neal and Dwyane Wade, were within a point with 14 seconds left when Ricky Davis drove for a go-ahead basket but missed. Josh Howard then made two free throws to make it 92-89.
* at Lakers 124, Philadelphia 93: The game was the fifth of a six-game trip for the 76ers, who looked weary. The Lakers outshot them, 66% to 42% from the floor. The Lakers led by as many as 34 points in the third quarter.
