* at New Jersey 3, Philadelphia 0: Martin Brodeur stopped 37 shots in his 96th regular-season shutout, and the Devils beat the Flyers for the 11th time in a row at East Rutherford, N.J. Brodeur has four shutouts this season and is seven shy of tying Terry Sawchuk’s mark of 103. Brodeur’s total of 118, including 22 in the playoffs, is an NHL record.

* Ottawa 5, at Buffalo 3: Dany Heatley and Daniel Alfredsson scored late in the third period, and the Senators handed the Sabres their season-worst fifth consecutive loss.

* Carolina 4, at Atlanta 3: The Hurricanes held Ilya Kovalchuk without a goal. The Thrashers fell to 4-13 when Kovalchuk, the NHL leader with 33 goals, is held without a goal.

* at Ducks 2, Chicago 1: Rookie Johan Hiller made 20 saves in his seventh NHL start, helping the Ducks beat the Blackhawks for the 11th time in 12 meetings.
