PUNCHLINE PUNDITRY
It isn’t often you walk into a club and see only comics of one ethnicity. But “Pundits of Comedy” at the hip Tanzore restaurant in Beverly Hills will showcase six U.S.-based comics of South Asian origin. “I’ll do my 7-Eleven, call center and outsourcing jokes up front,” said Rajiv Satyal (pictured), a Cincinnati-born, L.A.-based performer. “By the end, I’m talking about politics, religion, celebrity, dating.” Paul Varghese, who lives in Dallas, says his act depends on the racial mix of the crowd: “It can go in any direction, so you really have to have the material. It took me a few years to figure that out.” 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. Sat., Tanzore, 50 N. La Cienega Blvd., Beverly Hills. $20 ($65-$80 for dinner, after-party). (310) 652-3894; www.tanzore.com
