Outspoken?

IT boggles the mind that Giacomo Knox feels the need to defend Isaiah Washington as “truly outspoken” as opposed to Katherine Heigl’s defense of T.R. Knight [Letters, Jan. 13].

I wonder if Knox would feel the same way if Heigl or Knight had used the N-word to describe Washington, because the F-word is equally offensive. Washington was not “blindsided by a reporter” as Knox implies.

Instead he felt that an awards celebration was the appropriate place to defend himself against multiple witnesses.
