Adam Smith gets a statue

Adam Smith, the father of modern economics, was honored Friday with a statue in Edinburgh, Scotland, the first major public monument to the 18th century philosopher.
The statue is within sight of a monument to the philosopher David Hume, a contemporary and friend, and a few minutes’ walk from Smith’s grave.
