What’s going on the with the Anthony Pellicano case?
The wire-tapping and racketeering trial of Hollywood private investigator Anthony Pellicano is set to begin, with jury selection Wednesday in Los Angeles federal court.
Pellicano and four co-defendants -- former Los Angeles Police Department Det. Mark Arneson, former SBC field technician Rayford Earl Turner, computer developer Kevin Kachikian and businessman Abner Nicherie -- are accused of wire-tapping and illegally investigating Hollywood celebrities and other figures, including Sylvester Stallone, to gain an edge for the detective’s clients in court and industry battles.

In a ghoulish footnote to a bizarre case, two private investigators are charged with trying to get a woman’s arm, finger and blood in an attempt to win a new trial for L. Ewing Scott, who was convicted in 1957 of killing his wife, even though her body was never found.
According to testimony, a freelance private eye planned to get a woman’s arm from Mexico, put Evelyn Scott’s wedding ring on the hand, wrap everything in bloody newspaper and conceal the false evidence near the Corona del Mar home of one of Evelyn Scott’s friends.
