Cal State admissions
Re “Cal State closing the door earlier,” Feb. 27
The secondary headline on this article, “Schools move up application deadlines in hopes students will miss them, easing the effect of budget cuts,” sends a misleading message about our hopes and expectations. Because we hope that all students will apply in a timely fashion, the California State University system is constantly reaching out to the community to educate parents and students about application procedures for admissions and financial aid and to inform them about how to prepare for college.
What the university really hopes is that the Legislature and governor provide the necessary funding to CSU to maintain access for all qualified students and high educational quality.
