“The Silver Slippers”

Elizabeth Koda-Callan

Once there was a little girl who wished to be a ballerina. She had a lot of posters of ballerinas in her room. She tried to look like the girls in the posters, but she wasn’t really that good. She began ballet lessons with her friends.

One day, her ballet teacher announced that there was going to be a recital and that she would choose a prima ballerina.

The little girl’s mother told her that she just needs to work hard. One day, while the little girl was practicing, her mother gave her a special necklace. She said it will remind her of what she wants to be.
