Fired employee sought in killings
A laid-off worker allegedly returned to his former office in Santa Clara and opened fire Friday, killing three people before fleeing and leading police on an intensive search.
The suspect was identified as 47-year-old Jing Wu of Mountain View, who police say was an engineer at SiPort Inc., a semiconductor company.
Authorities have identified one of the victims as Sid Agrawal, SiPort chief executive officer. The identities of the other victims have not been released pending notification of family, Santa Clara Police Sgt. Jerry Rodriguez said.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired at an office complex on Scott Boulevard and Montgomery Drive shortly before 4 p.m. and found the bodies of two men and one woman, Santa Clara Police Lt. Mike Sellers said.
Police searching for Wu stopped cars and scoured the area around SiPort.
They also went to Wu’s Mountain View home, Rodriguez said.
