UCLA’s Aboya has no serious damage in wrist
A precautionary MRI exam has confirmed that UCLA center Alfred Aboya suffered no serious damage to his left wrist when he fell hard in a game against Southern Illinois on Friday night.
The test, conducted in Los Angeles, showed no break in what team officials originally called a hand injury.
Aboya, who had a career night against the Salukis with 22 points and eight rebounds, participated in all of Monday’s practice and is expected to play in the Bruins’ next game, against Florida International on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Pauley Pavilion.
Two other UCLA players suffered minor injuries Monday, but neither is expected to sit out a game. Freshman guard Malcolm Lee sprained his right ankle and junior forward Nikola Dragovic sat out most of the practice because of a bruised left knee.
