San Francisco 7, at San Diego 0: The Giants’ Tim Lincecum pitched a four-hitter for his first career shutout, needing just 86 pitches to earn his 17th win this season.
at Florida 4, Washington 2: Hanley Ramirez and Jorge Cantu homered for the Marlins.
at Pittsburgh 7, St. Louis 6 (12 innings): Brandon Moss doubled with two outs in the 12th to score Adam LaRoche as the Pirates rallied from a four-run deficit.
Atlanta 3-0, at New York 2-5: Jeff Francoeur hit a tying single in the eighth inning and the Braves rallied against Johan Santana and the Mets’ bullpen in the first game. In the second game, Jonathon Niese pitched eight poised innings in his second major league start and David Wright hit the first of three Mets homers.
at Philadelphia 7, Milwaukee 3: Cole Hamels pitched 6 1/3 sharp innings and Jimmy Rollins homered for the Phillies, who moved within two games of the Brewers for the NL wild-card top spot.
Chicago at Houston: The first two games of the series that were postponed because of the potential impact of Hurricane Ike will now be played in Milwaukee, today and Monday at Miller Park, with Houston being the home team. If the third game of the series is needed, it will be Sept. 29 at Houston.
Cincinnati 3, at Arizona 2 (10 innings): Former Diamondback Micah Owings, a pinch hitter with two outs in the 10th, doubled in the deciding run.
Dodgers 5, at Colorado 1: Clayton Kershaw allowed just four singles in six innings as the Dodgers picked up their 12th win in 13 games.
