Police have turned over to the Orange County district attorney’s office the findings of a criminal investigation of an officer who allegedly used law enforcement databases to obtain information about women.
Sgt. Bill Arganda is suspected of accessing the California Law Enforcement Access Telecommunications System repeatedly over a period that spanned months, police said.
Police said a “significant” number” of records were accessed. The information reportedly was used for personal purposes and nothing was sold to third parties. Arganda was placed on administrative leave in May after an internal audit revealed a “pattern of substantial misuse,” said Sgt. Dan Schoonmake.
