Previews by August Brown Robin Thicke Thicke’s latest record, “Sex Therapy,” is his baby-making album, and though Thicke’s freak flag is PG-13, his new randiness adds zip to an always-perfect falsetto. On the crackling soul jam “Mrs. Sexy,” he’s promising to “buy you a ring and make you Mrs. Sexy,” presumably because his bachelorhood as Mr. Sexy was unfulfilling. His moaning-Brigitte-Bardot sample on “Meiple” is so over the top it could make Serge Gainsbourg feel outdone. Club Nokia, 800 W. Olympic Blvd., Suite A335, L.A. Mon., 7 p.m. $41.50-$71.50. (213) 765-7000.
Lady Gaga The high preistess of Warhol-ish vamping has finally emerged as one of the biggest and most boundary-shattering stars in recent pop music. Her later singles -- “Paparazzi” and “Bad Romance” show an even greater sonic ambitiousness, and her stage shows have emerged as art-damaged spectacle of the highest order. Nokia Theatre, 777 Chick Hearn Court, L.A. Mon.-Wed., 7:30 p.m. (213) 763-6000.
Tenacious D They may have come down a peg or so since their recording-with-Dave-Grohl heights, but now that the band responsible for The Greatest Song In The World has returned to their acoustic-and-barstool routine, their earnest absurdity is even more potent. This set is a benefit for the Pablove Foundation. Largo at the Coronet, 366 N. La Cienega Blvd., L.A. Wed., 8:30 p.m. $50. (310) 855-0350.
