Improving Grizzlies beat Nuggets, 102-96
at Memphis 102, Denver 96: Zach Randolph had 32 points and a career-high 24 rebounds, the highest total in the NBA this season, and the Grizzlies beat the Nuggets for the first time in nine meetings. Rudy Gay scored 19 for Memphis, Marc Gasol had 14 points and 13 rebounds, and O.J. Mayo and Mike Conley scored 11 apiece. Carmelo Anthony had 41 points for Denver.
at Boston 122, Minnesota 104: Paul Pierce scored 29 points and hit all six of his three-point attempts, and the Celtics finished with a season high in points two nights after their winning streak was ended at 11 games. Rajon Rondo had 13 points and 15 assists as Boston beat Minnesota for the sixth consecutive time since acquiring Kevin Garnett from the Timberwolves in the summer of 2007.
Portland 102, at Miami 95: Brandon Roy scored 11 of his 28 points late in the fourth quarter and LaMarcus Aldridge added 23 for the Trail Blazers, who trailed by six with 5 1/2 minutes remaining. Dwyane Wade had 28 points and 10 assists for the Heat, but shot 13 for 31 from the field and didn’t have a rebound for only the fourth time in his career. Quentin Richardson tied a Heat record by shooting seven for seven from three-point range.
at Toronto 98, New Orleans 92: Chris Bosh had 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Raptors. The Hornets shot 39% and fell to 2-11 on the road.
at New York 98, Charlotte 94: Wilson Chandler scored 26 points, and Danilo Gallinari had 21 plus a key block in the closing seconds for the Knicks, who won for the sixth time in eight games.
