Four killed in freeway crash in Colton
Four people died in a fiery crash on the 215 Freeway in Colton early Sunday, authorities said.
The accident occurred about 4:50 a.m. near South La Cadena Drive.
Southbound lanes of the freeway were shut down for several hours.
All lanes had been reopened by noon.
The names of the dead and their relationships were unavailable, pending notification of their families, said San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Jodi Miller.
The cause of the accident was still under investigation, but at least two vehicles were involved and one had been fully engulfed in flames, according to fire officials.
