Disagreeing respectfully

Re “A marriage of science and religion,” Opinion, Jan. 29

Thank you for printing Deborah Heiligman’s Op-Ed article. Charles and Emma Darwin exhibited wonderful respect, love and commitment in their communications about an important topic on which they disagreed -- religion.

How wonderful if we all would try to emulate their behavior and attempt to “truly see the other person’s point of view.” We too can learn to disagree respectfully with someone without demonizing or disparaging them.
