Victims of double murder found in Stanton, police say
Two employees who worked in the sales office of a Stanton mobile home business were found dead Monday morning in what Orange County sheriff’s investigators believe was a double homicide.
The Sheriff’s Department received a call about 10:50 a.m. from the owner of Golden Sun Homes in the 12300 block of Beach Boulevard. Upon entering his sales office, the owner discovered the bodies of his son -- who was also a sales associate -- and the lot’s longtime secretary, said Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jim Amormino. The bodies were found behind the secretary’s desk, he said.
Matthew Frances Scott, 42, of Costa Mesa and Elizabeth Palmer, 49, of Fountain Valley had both arrived at work between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., Amormino said.
He said there were no signs of a struggle and no reports of any disturbances.
Investigators have no suspects and are interviewing families and co-workers.
“Hopefully, we will be able to piece it all together,” Amormino said.
Authorities did not disclose how the two were killed.
Sheriff’s officials are looking for Palmer’s missing car, a white, four-door Lexus sedan with the California license plate 5FYP194.
Scott’s car was found in the parking lot.
