This is Israel’s first animated feature in decades, and it’s going to be a hard act to follow. Provocative, hallucinatory, incendiary, this devastating animated documentary is not only unlike any Israeli film you’ve seen -- in its ability to seamlessly mix the real and the surreal, the personal and the political, animation and live action, it’s unlike any film you’ve seen, period. Even in this busy holiday season, that should be enough to get you into the theater.
