Dwyane Wade rallies Miami to overtime victory
at Miami 101, New Jersey 96: Dwyane Wade scored 29 points, had three key blocks in the closing minutes and helped the Heat overcome a 16-point deficit for its biggest comeback victory of the season. Wade had two blocks of shots by 7-footer Brook Lopez, including one in overtime, and swatted a jumper by Vince Carter into the stands in the final minute of regulation. Wade’s three-point play with 37.2 seconds left in overtime stretched Miami’s lead to 96-88.
at Atlanta 103, Houston 100: Mike Bibby made a three-pointer with 1.5 seconds remaining, Josh Smith scored a season-high 29 points for the Hawks and Joe Johnson had a season-high 14 assists, the last one setting up Bibby’s game-winning shot. The Hawks have won six of their last seven games and six straight at home, where they are 15-2 this season.
at San Antonio 108, Philadelphia 106: Tony Parker hit a high-arching 15-footer at the buzzer and the Spurs won for the seventh time in eight games, despite blowing an early 21-point lead. Tim Duncan led San Antonio with 26 points on 11-for-15 shooting. Parker finished with 15 points and 10 assists. Andre Miller led Philadelphia with 28 points on 12-for-14 shooting.
Minnesota 102, at Chicago 92: Randy Foye scored 21 points, and Al Jefferson added 18 points and 14 rebounds to help the Timberwolves win consecutive games for the first time this season and improve to 4-2 in their last six games. Derrick Rose had 22 points for the Bulls, who have lost six of their last seven games.
at Indiana 122, Sacramento 117: Danny Granger scored 13 of his 35 points in the fourth quarter, leading the Pacers to their second consecutive victory. Sacramento’s Kevin Martin scored a season-high 45 points, making 13 of 24 field-goal attempts and a career-high seven three-pointers, but the Kings still dropped 1-8 in their last nine games.
at Charlotte 102, Milwaukee 92: Gerald Wallace scored 24 points, Boris Diaw added 21 and the Bobcats ended a three-game losing streak. The NBA’s lowest-scoring team took advantage of Bucks center Andrew Bogut’s absence because of back spasms and avenged a Friday night loss in Milwaukee.
