I am planning a trip to Merida, Mexico, and decided to check out Uptake [“Before Your Trip, Be Quick on the Uptake,” Web Buzz, Jan. 4]. It offered Merida, Mexico, as a destination, but virtually all the hotels, tours, points of interest, etc., that it suggested were in Merida, Venezuela.
Because the leader simply says “Distance from Merida unknown,” there is no way to verify which Merida is being shown without linking to another site.
This makes Uptake less than useful.
