CALIFORNIA BRIEFING / CALABASAS
Comedian Robert Schimmel, who is known for provocative humor and regular appearances on the Howard Stern Show, was arrested early Saturday morning “on a spousal assault charge,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Schimmel at his Cielo Circle home in Calabasas after authorities were called about 12:30 a.m. regarding an altercation he had had with his wife, according to a statement from the department’s Malibu/Lost Hills station.
He was released about 10 hours later on $50,000 bond.
