Chevron Corp. won’t have to face a shareholder resolution on greenhouse gases after agreeing to track and report on the carbon content of its products.
Chevron is the first of the major U.S. oil companies to agree to take such action, according to a statement by a group of 16 investors called the Sisters of St. Dominic of Caldwell, N.J.
The group filed the proposal, which would have been voted on today at the San Ramon, Calif., company’s annual shareholder meeting.
