THURSDAY THROUGH JUNE 7: PHILLIES AT DODGER STADIUM

The Dodgers never have beaten Cole Hamels. They’ll get another chance to beat the Phillies’ ace this week, when the defending World Series champions visit Dodger Stadium for the first time since last year’s National League Championship Series. Hamels was most valuable player of that series, winning both of his starts with a 1.93 earned-run average. In five career starts against the Dodgers, Hamels is 3-0 with a 2.06 ERA, with eight walks and 34 strikeouts in 35 innings. Matt Stairs, whose pinch-hit home run against Jonathan Broxton in October might have yet to land, hit two homers in his first eight pinch-hit at-bats this season.
