Now I know why the Dodgers chose to hold their champagne bash after winning the division title, instead of waiting until they achieved something more meaningful. They must have had a gut reaction that this would be their only chance to indulge. Good call, Dodgers.

I would really like to root for the Dodgers again, because I’ve been mad at them since the days of Fred Claire and Kevin Malone and some of their ridiculous trades. At the present time, I can’t, however.

When Manny’s gone, I’ll belong!

Never mind that every move Joe Torre made against the Phillies backfired and never mind that the Dodgers always seemed to be behind in the count before they came to bat; the real problem with the Dodgers is that management sets its sights too low.
