Colorado beats Phoenix, 2-1, for fourth consecutive victory
Denver — Rookie Matt Duchene scored his second goal of the game with 4:16 left, Craig Anderson made 31 saves and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Phoenix Coyotes, 2-1, Friday night for its fourth straight victory.
Duchene, the third pick in the June draft, redirected Brett Clark’s shot from the blue line past Ilya Bryzgalov for the game-winner. The NHL rookie goals leader, Duchene boosted his total to 20 with his fourth multi-goal game of the season.
It was the Avalanche’s second win in two games against Phoenix this season. The Coyotes lost for only the second time in their last 10 games.
Phoenix tied it at 1-1 on Martin Hanzal’s rebound shot at 4:24 of the second.
