Fighting on all fronts
Cartoonists coasted like a Prius thrown into neutral this week. Besides Toyota’s hara-kiri, we got great mileage out of polar paralyzation in Washington, Sarah Palin’s palm prompter, Iranian nukes and, oh yes, that little budget mess. But a brave few went off script. Pat Bagley was burned up over entitlements, tax cuts and war bills. Mikhaela Reid was alone in commenting on abstinence -- apparently it’s an unsexy issue. And Jeff Koterba was a solo voice crying for the millions slaughtered in an African war. Too bad you can’t recall a wildly out-of-control conflict.
