Healthcare tax: An article in Thursday’s Section A about healthcare legislation and a possible new tax on investment income cited an analysis by the Tax Policy Center, which projected that taxpayers in 2010 would report long-term capital gains and dividends totaling about $500 million. The correct total is $500 billion.

Effects of TV viewing: The headline on an article in Tuesday’s Section A that said “Hours sitting in front of TV found to shorten life” overstated the results of a study. As the article stated, researchers found a statistical relationship between long hours of TV viewing and a shortened life span, but the study did not go so far as to find a direct cause.

Dan Naddor: The obituary of crossword constructionist Dan Naddor in Section A on Jan. 7 said he was divorced from his first wife and survived by his second wife, Tracie. Naddor was divorced twice; Tracie is his third wife.

Julianne Moore: An article in the Jan. 6 issue of The Envelope about actress Julianne Moore misspelled the title of her upcoming movie “The Kids Are All Right” as “The Kids Are Alright.”

Mousetrap design: A Jan. 6 Home article on the history of mousetrap design said the Kness Ketch-All trap was invented in 1924, at the start of the Great Depression. The device was invented before the Depression, which didn’t start until 1929.
