Through Monday’s games:

Rank Team Record (last week’s ranking)

1. Washington 46-14-9 They’re more than just the “Alexander Ovechkin Show,” as they proved Sunday by rallying to win at Chicago after he was tossed. (1)

2. Phoenix 42-22-5 Coyotes have won five straight and 13 of 17. If Dave Tippett isn’t voted Coach of the Year, a recount would be mandatory. (6)

3. Chicago 44-18-6 Defenseman Brian Campbell, playing well, might be done for the season after being shoved into the boards by Ovechkin and breaking his collarbone. (4)

4. Vancouver 43-23-3 After playing 14 straight road games because of the Olympics, Canucks started a five-game homestand by winning the first two. (5)

5. San Jose 43-15-10 They can’t believe they can slide into the playoffs and avoid another early exit. But it looks like they’re going to tempt fate. (3)

6. Pittsburgh 41-23-5 Sidney Crosby found his Olympic stick, which was never really lost. Penguins are finding their rhythm again and have won six of their last 10. (2)

7. Colorado 39-23-6 Avalanche power play is eight for 20 over the last six games. Team has won six of its last 10. (7)

8. Kings 40-23-5 They got three of four points at Chicago and Dallas but lose (again) to the pesky Predators. Nashville’s speed causes havoc the Kings’ defense can’t resolve. (8)

9. Nashville 38-26-5 The Predators have won all six of their last one-goal decisions. They did well to rebound from a loss at San Jose and win at Anaheim and Los Angeles. (10)

10. New Jersey 41-24-3 The Ilya Kovalchuk count: five goals and 12 points in 13 games, but only one power-play goal. (12)

11. Detroit 34-23-12 Red Wings have won seven of nine to hang onto the final West playoff spot. With Jimmy Howard playing well, Chris Osgood hasn’t started since Jan. 27. (13)

12. Buffalo 36-21-10 Big brother Ryan Miller lost to little brother Drew and the Red Wings at Detroit on Saturday for family bragging rights. (11)

13. Montreal 35-29-6 Goalie Jaroslav Halak follows excellent Olympics with Slovakia by compiling a five-game winning streak. (16)

14. Ottawa 37-27-5 Senators have won only four of their last 10 and lost two of three on their recent Western trip. They were outscored, 7-1, in losing the last two. (9)

15. Philadelphia 36-28-4 Their euphoria over a comeback win over the Blackhawks on Saturday fizzled after they were outhit and out-played by the Rangers on Sunday. (15)

16. Calgary 34-26-9 The Flames outshot the Canucks, 11-0, in the third period on Sunday but still lost, 3-1, because of a slow start. Fight for eighth in the West could go to the wire. (14)

17. Boston 30-26-12 Bruins’ inconsistency is hurting. And now they have to get by without Marc Savard, who suffered a concussion on an ugly hit from Pittsburgh’s Matt Cooke. (17)

18. Minnesota 33-29-6 Big win over St. Louis at home on Sunday keeps the Wild’s playoff hopes alive. (20)

19. St. Louis 32-27-9 Blues were 4-2 on their just-completed six-game trip and have won seven of nine, keeping them on the fringe of the West playoff scramble. (19)

20. N.Y. Rangers 31-29-9 Sean Avery returns from one-game benching to score twice in a victory over the Flyers Sunday. His team is still in a tough battle for a playoff spot. (21)

21. Dallas 29-26-13 Stars’ game Sunday wasn’t televised in Dallas, ending a streak of 1,101 games (including playoffs) that were available in their home market. (22)

22. Ducks 31-29-8 Post-Olympic blahs hit them hard. Beating San Jose was a morale boost but injuries to Teemu Selanne (shoulder) and Ryan Getzlaf (left ankle) will doom them. (24)

23. Tampa Bay 28-28-12 Steven Stamkos, whose 18-game point streak ended last week, bruised his back Sunday on a hit by Pittsburgh’s Brooks Orpik. He’s questionable for the Lightning’s next game, on Tuesday. (18)

24. Carolina 28-32-8 Hurricanes have won seven of their last 10 and have points in eight of 10, but it’s too little, too late. (23)

25. Columbus 28-31-11 Injuries to Kristian Huselius and Rick Nash make life even tougher for low-scoring Blue Jackets. Steve Mason’s struggles in goal continue, too. (28)

26. Atlanta 28-29-11 Maxim Afinogenov has 21 goals, two short of his career best. Tough week coming against Buffalo, Ottawa and two against the Flyers. (25)

27. Florida 28-29-10 Panthers rally for wins at Minnesota and San Jose but their playoffs hopes aren’t strong. (26)

28. N.Y. Islanders 28-32-9 Center Doug Weight said he will undergo surgery that will end his season. It might also end his distinguished career. (27)

29. Toronto 23-34-12 Maple Leafs’ season-high three-game winning streak was ended Sunday by the Islanders. (29)

30. Edmonton 21-41-7 Oilers officially eliminated from the playoffs. And with the first pick in the 2010 NHL entry draft they select … (30)
