Week ahead for the Dodgers
Monday through Wednesday: vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
Thursday through Sunday: vs. Atlanta Braves
Brandon Webb started for the Arizona Diamondbacks on opening day last year. They won. He has been on the disabled list ever since, and the Diamondbacks have gone 89-121, through Friday. Edwin Jackson, who had a 3.62 earned-run average in Detroit last year, has a 6.03 ERA in Arizona this year. Dan Haren, an All-Star in each of the last three years, has a 5.35 ERA. And the Arizona bullpen has a 7.50 ERA, which would be the worst in modern times over a full season. If pitchers talk about not getting any support, how about hitters? The Diamondbacks have scored more runs than any National League team except the Cincinnati Reds.
