It took half a nanosecond to decide I also like the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego‘s holiday gift tucked in a package deal for December: a free hybrid car for a day with your stay.

The deal: I’m Dreaming of a Green Christmas offers rooms starting at $149 plus tax for a studio that sleeps two. Guests pick up the free wheels, part of Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s fleet, at the concierge desk. (You must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.) And one more green thing: The hotel also plants a tree through Global ReLeaf for every package reserved. Bonus: You get VIP entry to the hotel’s two bars. When: The offer is good Dec. 1 to 30, subject to availability and with some blackout dates.

Tested: I checked the hotel’s website and found a wide variety of prices for the package, depending on the dates. For example, a studio room cost $229 plus tax on Dec. 3, $199 on Dec. 16 and $149 on Christmas Eve. So take your pick, and don’t forget to pick up the keys when you get there.
