Week ahead for Dodgers
Tuesday through Thursday: vs. San Diego Padres
Friday through Sunday: at Arizona Diamondbacks
Dodger Stadium’s final look at a pennant race will come this week with the home team relegated to the role of spoiler against the division-leading Padres. “That’s our job now,” outgoing manager Joe Torre said. “Hopefully we’ll play that way.” The Dodgers haven’t had much of an impact on the race so far, since they have losing records against both the Padres and San Francisco Giants this season. Another number that’s of interest to the Dodgers is 43,312. Entering Saturday that’s what the team had to average at the gate over its final eight home games to avoid its worst home attendance figure since 2005.
