Following a buying spree, movie ticketer Fandango will move to Beverly Hills

Fandango is preparing to enlarge its physical presence in Los Angeles as the digital entertainment company expands its business portfolio, moving beyond online movie ticket sales and into video on demand and social media.
The company said it will move its headquarters from the Sawtelle area to Beverly Hills this summer, taking over the top two floors in a refurbished four-story building that will enable it to increase its local footprint more than 70%.
The recent slate of acquisitions created a need “to find a new office space for our expanded workforce,” Fandango President Paul Yanover said in a statement.
Fandango will lease the space, which is located on North Maple Drive near Beverly Boulevard, a spot that puts it in proximity to Netflix’s offices in Beverly Hills. Netflix itself will be moving next year to its new offices in Hollywood on Sunset Boulevard.
Fandango’s head count has more than doubled in size during the last four years as it has acquired media and digital entertainment properties in a bid for diversification. The company, which is owned by NBCUniversal, employs several hundred people, the majority of whom work at its L.A. headquarters.
This year Fandango acquired M-Go, the movie streaming service, from Dreamworks Animation and Technicolor. The service was later rebranded FandagoNOW and offers premium on-demand movies and TV shows.
The company recently acquired the movie-review site Rotten Tomatoes and the social media site Flixster from Warner Bros. Entertainment. As part of the deal, Warner Bros. took a minority stake in Fandango.
The company said this month that it has acquired Cinepapaya, a Latin American online movie ticket seller.
The new office space in Beverly Hills is owned by the real estate firm Tishman Speyer, which is renovating the interior and exterior of the building.
