Cingular Wireless has named Andy Shibley vice president and general manager of the greater Los Angeles market. Arti Hurria, M.D., has been appointed director of the new aging and cancer research program at City of Hope. Schematic announced the addition of new Chief Strategy Officer, Kurt David Kratchman to its leadership team. Salem Communications promoted Chuck DeFeo .

Cingular Wireless has named Andy Shibley vice president and general manager of the greater Los Angeles market, which includes Los Angeles, Kern, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, San Bernardino, Riverside and Orange Counties. Shibley comes to Los Angeles from San Antonio, Texas, where he was vice president and general manager of Cingular’s operations in South Texas. He replaces Kelly King, who was named senior vice president-consumer markets for AT&T West. In his new role, Shibley will oversee all business and financial matters for the designated markets in greater Los Angeles.

Arti Hurria, M.D., has been appointed director of the new aging and cancer research program in the division of medical oncology and therapeutics research and assistant professor in the division of population sciences of City of Hope. A former geriatrician and medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Hurria is an established expert in the field of breast cancer in older patients. In her new role, she directs clinical services for women over 65 with breast cancer and is building an institution-wide program on aging and cancer.

Schematic, a full-service interactive agency, announced the addition of new Chief Strategy Officer, Kurt David Kratchman to its leadership team. Kratchman, based in Los Angeles, brings more than a decade of experience and will guide Schematic’s national client services group, overseeing business strategy and revenue growth.

Salem Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: SALM), a Christian and family-themed content provider, today announced that Chuck DeFeo has been promoted to vice president and general manager of www.Townhall.com and News Talk Online effective immediately. In his new role, DeFeo will manage Salem’s news talk radio station websites and SRNNews.com while maintaining responsibility for Townhall.com.
