Sports Illustrated cover model Kate Upton poses for Carl’s Jr.
It looks like Kate Upton is set for a while: In addition to landing the cover of the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, the model of the moment is also gracing the new advertisements for Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s.
The day after Upton was unveiled on “Late Show With David Letterman” as the bikini-clad star of the sports magazine’s famous annual issue, CKE Restaurants released saucy behind-the-scenes footage from her commercials for its fast-food chains.
Upton filmed her role for the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s Southwest Patty Melt on Jan. 31 clad in a polka-dot dress on a hilltop overlooking downtown Los Angeles. The 30-second spot will begin airing later this month, once the sandwiches hit Hardee’s on Monday and Carl’s Jr. on Feb. 22.
The chains are known for their often raunchy, controversy-courting ads. Upton is an especially timely get for CKE.
“It’s the classic patty melt but they’re adding a little spice to it with jalapeno,” Upton says in the new footage. “My spice I bring to it is lingerie.”
Upton, 19, made waves last year after a video of her at a Clippers game doing the Dougie -- a dance popularized by the hit song “Cali Swag District” -- hit YouTube.
As a Sports Illustrated cover model, Upton joins the ranks of past posers such as Cheryl Tiegs, Christie Brinkley, Elle Macpherson and Heidi Klum. Carl’s Jr. alums include reality television mainstays Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton.
