Home once owned by Vincent Baggetta and Judd Hirsch flags down a buyer
This Sherman Oaks home has been around the block a few times. It was once owned by actor Vincent Baggetta, who got his start while driving a taxi, and before him, actor Judd Hirsch, who is known for his Emmy-winning work on the sitcom “Taxi.”
Now the tidy 1,141-square-foot home is in escrow for sale with a listing price of $2.1 million. If that sounds like a lot even in L.A. for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom place, consider the lot size and location. The 1981 two-story is perched on more than two acres abutting parkland.
Stone walls, beamed pitched ceilings and wood floors are among features of the open-plan house. There’s a fireplace in the master bedroom, and walls of glass take in valley, mountain and canyon views.
A pond with a waterfall feature and a swimming pool with a trellis area are on the rustic grounds.
Baggetta, who died last year at 72, starred in the late-’70s series “The Eddie Capra Mysteries.” He also appeared on such shows as “Mannix,” “The Rockford Files” and “Hill Street Blues.” He parted with the property in 2016 for $1.15 million.
Hirsch, 83, sold to Baggetta in 1997 for $500,000, public records show. In recent years, he has had recurring roles on “Superior Donuts,” “The Goldbergs” and “Forever.”
Raisa Ress of Coldwell Banker Calabasas is the listing agent.
