Hot Property: Gerry Beckley puts Sherman Oaks house up for sale
Gerry Beckley, a founding member of the folk rock band America, has put a Sherman Oaks home on the market at $2.199 million.
The 4,052-square-foot modern-style house is surrounded by tropical landscaping and palm trees. There’s a backyard swimming pool and a detached musician’s studio.
The interiors include a formal entry, an updated kitchen, five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The master suite features vaulted ceilings, two walk-in closets and a fireplace.
Singer-songwriter Beckley, 61, and America had such hit songs in the 1970s as “A Horse With No Name,” “Ventura Highway” and “Sister Golden Hair.” More recently, the touring band released the album “Here & Now” in 2007.
Chuck Husting and Christina J. Hopkins of Keller Williams are the listing agents.
