Angels closer Huston Street prices Texas estate at $5.4 million
As the baseball hot stove enters its twilight period, Angels closer Huston Street is looking to make a trade of his own, listing his waterfront estate in Austin, Texas, for sale at $5.4 million.
Built in 2008, the Italian villa-inspired residence backs the Colorado River on an acre in the Northwest Travis neighborhood with 150 feet of frontage and a two-slip boat dock complete with a covered entertainer’s deck.
The 10,200 square feet of living space is distinguished by large formal areas set beneath elaborate chandeliers. Vaulted interiors replete with arches, stone fireplaces and detailed wall treatments are in keeping with the Old World ambiance.
Among amenities is a double-island kitchen, a home theater and a wine room with a tasting bar. Other spaces include an office, a library and an exercise room as well as five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms.
Outdoors, a covered patio contains a fireplace and a pair of al fresco dining areas. Elsewhere is a pool and spa with a waterfall feature. A courtyard flanked by tall columns sits at the front of the home.
Street, 31, headlined a six-player trade between the Angels and Padres in July. The two-time All-Star converted 41 of 44 saves with an ERA of 1.37 between the two teams last year.
The property last sold for $3.75 million in 2008, property records show. Eric Moreland of Moreland Properties is the listing agent.
