Jazz vocalist Rondi Charleston lands a high spot in Malibu
Investigative reporter-turned-jazz vocalist and songwriter Rondi Charleston has bought a home in Malibu for $6.95 million.
Set on a ridge of about half an acre, the chic contemporary spread features finishes of stone, concrete and distressed wood throughout its roughly 3,300 square feet of living space.
Entered beneath an iron portico, the multilevel home opens to a living room lined with floor-to-ceiling windows. Motorized walls of glass open from both the dining room and kitchen areas to terrace patios. The chef’s kitchen is equipped with a massive center island.
The master suite features a covered balcony of its own. There are three bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in all.
Outdoor spaces include a sitting room and an al fresco dining area, both of which are surrounded by lush landscaping. Unobstructed views from the property run up and down the coastline.
Noah Applebaum of Rodeo Realty held the listing. Janelle Orange-Williams of PLG Estates represented the buyer.
Charleston studied theater and music at Juilliard before becoming a field producer at ABC News, winning Emmy and Peabody awards along the way. Her jazz albums include “Love Letters,” “In My Life” and 2017’s “Resilience.”
