Professional boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, who will square off against middleweight champion Miguel Cotto in November, has sold his home in San Diego County for $6 million.

Found east of Del Mar in a gated community, the single-story Hacienda-style house was built in 2007 and has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms in 11,970 square feet of living space.

Drawing from Old World design, interiors feature broad archways, custom stone floors, cathedral-style ceilings with exposed beams and four oversized fireplaces.

Among public areas is a two-story great room, a formal dining room, a wood-paneled office/library and a center-island kitchen with a pizza oven. A game room/billiards room, an exercise room and a movie theater with tiered seating highlight the amenities.

Outdoors, palm-topped grounds of more than an acre include an outdoor pavilion, a fire pit, a one-bedroom guest house and a resort-style swimming pool and spa. Elsewhere is a four-car garage, which was sometimes employed as a makeshift boxing ring and gym.

Alvarez, who was among the world’s highest-paid athletes in 2014, according to Forbes, bought the house in 2013 for $5.8 million.

Mary Heon of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage was the listing agent. Laura Barry of Barry Estates repped the buyer.

Alvarez, 25, has amassed a 45-1-1 record, including 32 knockouts, for his career, with his one loss coming at the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2013. He is a 3/1 favorite to win the middleweight belt from Cotto in their Nov. 21 bout in Las Vegas.
