In December, the median sales price for single-family homes in Greater L.A. was $545,000, a 5.8% increase year over year, according to CoreLogic. About that amount buys a midcentury home in Altadena; an updated Spanish bungalow in Van Nuys; and a 1907 Craftsman in Whittier.
