Actress Amanda Peet has added some star power to her debut as a playwright. Blythe Danner and Sarah Jessica Parker will play mother and daughter facing family and fiscal troubles in Peet’s new off-Broadway production.

“The Commons of Pensacola” will begin previews at the Manhattan Theatre Club on Oct. 22 and open Nov. 21. Lynne Meadow will direct.

Danner and Parker previously shared the stage as a pet owner and a dog (yes, Parker played a dog) in MTC’s 1995 production “Sylvia.”
