She’s been pilloried on the red carpet in the past. But “Girls” creator Lena Dunham got it right in red Zac Posen at the Golden Globes.

Posen -- Dunham’s former babysitter, she told E! -- has dressed her several times. But this was the best to date, a red satin gown with flattering seams on the bodice and a high-low hem showing off fun red shoes. Her hair is trim and sharp with a reddish hue to match.

Dunham told Ryan Seacrest that she had gotten off Twitter because of all the haters and negative comments. But with an outfit hit like this, maybe she shouldn’t have given up so soon.

Another lovely lady in red, Allison Williams, chose a strapless crimson gown by Giorgio Armani with tinsel-like embroidery. “After ‘Peter Pan,’ I felt like looking like a real girl and I think this is girly enough for me,” she told E!.
