Ellen Pompeo has a new person: The “Grey’s Anatomy” star has welcomed her second child.
The titular star of Shonda Rhimes’ long-running ABC drama took to WhoSay on Thursday to introduce her second baby girl with husband Chris Ivery, a music producer.
“Sienna May Ivery welcome to the world. We love you more than words can say,” the 44-year-old Pompeo wrote, sharing a photo of her husband kissing their new baby girl.
If the baby news comes as a bit of a surprise, that’s because the pregnancy and birth happened under wraps via surrogate, Pompeo said in a follow-up tweet.
“Sienna was born via surrogate & I would like to thank my whole @ShondalandTV family for helping us enjoy these first few weeks privately <3U,” she tweeted.
The fourth-highest-earning TV actress has grown accustomed to doing things in secret -- and not just in hospital elevators. The actress privately wed Ivery in 2007 in a low-key wedding at City Hall in New York. The pair welcomed their first daughter, Stella Luna, on Sept. 15, 2009.
The couple did not use a surrogate the first time around.
