Hugh Jackman shaves his head for role of Blackbeard in ‘Pan’
Bald man, ahoy! Hugh Jackman has shaved his head for his upcoming turn as the mischievous pirate Blackbeard in “Pan.”
“Blackbeard is born. #PAN,” the Tony Awards host captioned a picture he posted on Instagram. The snapshot shows the Aussie star in a hair dresser’s chair and prominently features his bald head.
The “X-Men: Days of Future Past” star also gave his beard a big trim and shaved off his sideburns.
“Pan,” the Joe Wright-helmed adventure comedy due in theaters in July 2015, tells the origin story of fairytale favorite Peter Pan. Jackman’s “Les Miserables” costar Amanda Seyfried also stars in the film, along with Rooney Mara and Garrett Hedlund.
Relative newcomer Levi Miller will play the boy who never wants to grow up.
Jackman, 45, had a second bout with skin cancer this year — his first was in 2013 — and sported a bandage on his nose at May’s “X-Men” premiere in New York. The Wolverine also urged fans to use sunscreen.
Looks as though he’ll need to be slathering the stuff on his new cue ball.
