The University of Social Media clearly hasn't prepared Justin Bieber for the real world.

The Biebs came in second in a big way Saturday in a beer-shotgunning contest against Sam Shahidi. The singer and the Shots co-founder were hanging out at a Vegas pool party before the Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight on Saturday.

"I lost but I didn't go to college," the 21-year-old wrote on Instagram by way of explaining UCLA alum Shahidi's dominance. Bieber finished a full three seconds behind, minimum.

Had you gone to college, Justin, you might have learned about things like air pressure and gravity, key allies in directing shotgunned beer down the hatch. Your sideways technique simply screams "inefficient." (You also might have learned that there really needs to be a comma in your caption after the word "lost," but that's hardly a party trick.)

Check out the video below — if nothing else, there's a lovely bit of bikini booty demonstrating some physics in the background as well.
