Kristin Cavallari said Monday she was thankful for the support she and her family have been getting while authorities search for her brother Michael, who is missing and, according to a Utah sheriff, was last seen around the Thanksgiving holiday.

"We remain hopeful and I will share any news that we receive," Cavallari wrote on Instagram. "I have such gratitude for all those that have shared their support."

The 28-year-old fashionista and reality-TV veteran, who in November welcomed her third child with Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, posted a throwback picture of herself and her older brother.

Michael Cavallari's 2014 Honda Civic was found Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving, abandoned 100 feet off Floy Wash Road and about five miles south of Interstate 70, the Grand County, Utah, Sheriff's Office said Saturday in a news release. His car was in a ditch, the New York Daily News reported, and the airbag was deployed.

The car appeared to have hit a large rock on the side of the road, Sheriff Steve White told the Deseret News. The newspaper said the 30-year-old's laptop and phone were found in the car.

The San Clemente resident's credit card transactions and some security video placed him in a convenience store in Monticello, Utah, about 95 miles south of I-70, the same day the car was found, authorities said. The sheriff said he was last seen by family on Nov. 25.

The car was left running, according to the Missing Persons of America website.

The call about the car came in a little before 8 a.m. Nov. 27, White told The Times on Monday, and the security video was taken around 3:30 a.m. the same day. The case is being handled as an active missing-person investigation.

"If they've had any contact with him or they've seen him, people should call my office," White said. He told the Deseret News that his office was "deeming it suspicious, but there's nothing to indicate anything one way or another. The vehicle was just abandoned."
