Paris Jackson ‘in a good place,’ grandma Katherine Jackson says
Paris Jackson is much better than when we last checked in on her, grandma Katherine Jackson says.
“She is in a good place, getting the help she needs,” the Jackson family matriarch told Hello! magazine in an exclusive interview. “She is doing much better.”
In early June, Paris was rushed to the hospital after what turned out to be an apparent suicide attempt — she reportedly cut her wrists with a kitchen knife and took a bunch of Motrin tablets.
Now, Hello! says, the 15-year-old middle child is in a residential facility specializing in grief management and depression in younger people.
“The treatment is going good, really good,” Katherine said. “She’s my baby. It’s hard for me, really hard. All I wanted these kids to be is happy. The night Michael died Paris was crying and said, ‘I want to go and see Daddy; I don’t want to be without him.’ ”
Paris’ access to social media and the Internet — which can be harsh and negative even if your father wasn’t a controversial mega-celebrity — is limited at the facility, Radar Online reported last week. The site had a snapshot of Paris at a graduation ceremony, her hair dyed red.
Michael Jackson, whose other kids are Prince, 16, and Blanket, 11, died from a propofol overdose in June 2009, a couple of months shy of his 51st birthday.
