Calvin Harris threatens to sue over salacious story that Taylor Swift dumped him
“Un-Happy Ending!” the hard-to-believe headline screamed Monday announcing a bad breakup between Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris.
Harris begged to differ with that “news.” Well, he didn’t exactly beg, but he definitely differed. To the point of threatening litigation.
“It’s not going to be a ‘happy ending’ for everyone I sue for defamation of character for all these ... stories bye bye,” Swift’s boyfriend of seven or so months tweeted Monday afternoon, lashing out after a morning full of rumors that he’d been dumped after getting caught leaving a massage parlor.
Swift’s rep Tree Paine shot down the rumor earlier in the day, tweeting, “I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again, do not believe Radar Online.”
Rumor-busting site Gossip Cop described the story as coming from what it called “somehow magically heard private conversations.”
A source said to be close to the couple told People the story was “absolutely not true” and that the two were “still going strong.”
Meanwhile, Selena Gomez, Swift’s BFF of eight years, was caught off guard by the rumor.
“Calvin Harris — broken up or not?” Andy Cohen asked his guest Monday on Sirius XM’s Radio Andy show.
“Whu-ut?” Gomez replied.
“Are they broken up?” the Bravo host pressed.
“I think I would have found that out,” said the woman who had just described her most recent text from TSwift — and it didn’t mention any kind of massage parlor. “I didn’t even know, is that a rumor? This is, honestly, it’s so stupid. I’m pregnant every week, she’s gonna be pregnant, it’s so stupid.
“You can’t really read that stuff.”
