Blessed be! AMC’s ‘Preacher’ will be back for an extended second season
After receiving top television ratings, AMC’s “Preacher” will return for a second season, this time with 13 episodes, in 2017. AMC shared the “good news” via press release.
The adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillion’s dark graphic novel will be extended onto the small screen for another season. Adapted by producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldber of comedy movie fame and show runner Sam Catlin (“Breaking Bad”) the first season of the supernatural show premiered last month to excellent reviews.
The supernatural western centers on struggling Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), Irish vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) and con woman Tulip (Ruth Negga), who unknowingly get involved in a holy war.
And now their journey to find God in the dust and blood of Texas will continue for at least one more season.
